Whaley Children’s Center, a nonprofit in Flint, MI, provides supportive care and healing for children and teens who have suffered severe abuse or neglect. Through trauma-informed residential programs, education, mental health services, and independent living support, we create a safe environment where youth can heal and thrive. Our dedicated staff, mentors, and volunteers empower our children to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Services We Provide.
Mental Health and Behavioral Stabilization
Youth in this program receive 24/7 trauma-informed care from supportive staff, either on campus or in one of our two group homes.
Education
Our on-grounds school, in partnership with Lansing Learning Hub, offers small class sizes, real-life learning experiences, and credit recovery support.
Independent Living
Our two Independent Living homes support youth ages 16-19 as they transition from foster care to adulthood.
Therapeutic Support
Each child at Whaley receives weekly individual and group therapy, along with crisis intervention, from a master-level therapist using evidence-based approaches.

In Michigan, 10,007 children were in foster care in 2023.
In Michigan, 24,018 cases of abuse and neglect were confirmed in 2023.
In 2025, the Center cared for 69 children.
These children came from 30 different counties.

Cars 108 Roof Sit
Whaley Children’s Center is partnering with Cars 108 for a unique fundraiser! The team will camp out on the McDonald’s roof across from Grand Blanc High to raise awareness and funds for the 48 foster children in our care. Every dollar helps provide a safe, loving home where they can grow and thrive.
