Become a Mentor

The Importance of Becoming a Mentor

By becoming involved with Whaley Children’s Center’s Mentoring Program, you have the opportunity to be a role model and change the direction of a troubled child’s life. It has been said that it only takes three adult role models in a child’s life to make a difference. ” If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.” -Rachel Carson

By becoming a mentor you are not only a positive influence on a child’s life but you can give a child the greatest gift that on can receive: self-worth, positive self-esteem, laughter, self-respect, and love.
